Each afternoon, Alta Lodge serves tea, coffee, hot chocolate and fruit drinks in the Deck Room. Fresh baked goods accompany this long tradition of afternoon tea. This afternoon Ketner was pouring Earl Grey tea, served with chocolate raisin biscotti and blueberry bread. We met two guests who had both just arrived for a five day stay. I discovered one gentleman first started staying with us in 1958 and the other started coming in 1967. They are long time friends and always come in December, usually with other family members. They’re still die-hard skiers after all these years–they must have “Alta” in their blood!
