Last Friday the sun made an appearance and has continued to shine through today. The temperatures have stayed in the 20s during the daytime, deterring any melt from the snow we have. The base at Alta is 83 inches and everything is open on the mountain. The Baldy Chutes have drawn skiers to take the hike up the ridge that is required to ski the chutes. It’s nice enough to sit outside and enjoy lunch or just a take a soak in the sun.
This break in the storm cycle comes to an end this evening as the next one moves in. Accumulations are modest compared to the previous cycles but it will freshen things up.
The first of our four Women’s Ski Camps begins on Thursday. Sold out for awhile now, most of the participants are returning guests who enjoy the camp so much that they return each year to attend with friends they have made at the camps. Although the February camp is full, we still have room in the two March camps. If you want to participate, we encourage you sign up soon as these will fill up as well.
