Packing for Your Ski Vacation

One of the challenging aspects of taking a ski vacation is packing.  With skis, boots, poles, helmet, cold weather clothing and apres ski clothing, it can be overwhelming, especially if you last vacation was at the beach. There are ways to simplify the process, starting with a list.  Mike Doyle from about.com has put together some good tips to help make the process a little easier.

Something worth considering is leaving your skis at home and renting skis. Bringing boots not only saves on juggling a ski bag with your other luggage but will also save you an extra baggage fee that many airlines charge.  Most ski shops carry high end demo skis and many offer discounted rates for consecutive days. The Powder House is adjacent to Alta Lodge and has a wide range of skis available.

Even the best of us leave items off the list and if you unpack and discover you forgot your toothbrush or sunscreen, you can always pick up those items at the Alta Store next to the locker room.
