The days have been sunny over the past week with the exception of Monday
when the sky was overcast and there was a bit of rain. The
temperatures continue to cool, especially in the evenings and with that
comes more brilliant colors in Little Cottonwood Canyon. While I was stopping
by the Sunnyside Store on Wednesday, one of the staff who lives at Alta
mentioned they had frost on their windshield that morning--the first frost--a sign that locals look forward to. The Store will remain open for a couple more weeks, until September 26. The
hours are Monday-Friday 7 am-5 pm and on weekends, 9 am-7 pm. In
addition to snacks, beverages, t-shirts and hats, you can also pick up
your season pass.
Unsure what to do this weekend? With daytime high temperatures in the mid-60 range, it's still lovely to be outside. A hike to Catherine's Pass or Cecret Lake about mid-day followed by Sunday Brunch or Saturday Lunch is
going to be pretty tough to beat for an ideal weekend. Not a hiker?
Take a drive in Little Cottonwood Canyon and enjoy the beautiful fall
season.
